Mosquitoes are two-winged flying insects that suck blood from humans, and animals. In many parts of the world their bites is a considerable nuisance. They are responsible for transmitting the most important vector-borne diseases, above all malaria, but also lymphatic filariasis, Japanese encephalitis, and dengue, as well as yellow fever, West Nile fever and other forms of encephalitis.
